:)Am i supposed to use Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Scrub everyday?
It just all depends on how sensitive your skin is. If you have pretty sensitive skin, I wouldn't use it every day. Try every other at first to see if your skin will ';tolerate'; it.Am i supposed to use Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Scrub everyday?
depends on if you have sensitive skin. if you do. then everyother day.
no. about twice a week is best.

Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub from Neutrogena?

I was worndering if the Blackhead Eliminating Scrub from Neutrogena really works. I have blackheads all over my nose and i really want to get rid of them. Are there and other products or methods you can do to get rid of blackheads?

Best answer, 10 points !Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub from Neutrogena?
Iam a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care and teen acne.

In my experience of 12 years alot of commercial store bought products DO NOT WORK!

PLEASE READ THIS WITH YOUR MOM if you are under 18, I have a great solution for you!

Blackheads are bacteria filled pores that when they reach the surface of the skin they are exposed to air and oxidize giving them the dark color. Acne is caused by the same type of bacteria. So I am writing to you about acne ( because if you dont take care of your skin you the blackheads may become whiteheads) but the same applies for the issue you have with blackheads.

Scrubbing is not always the solution for blackheads. Over scrubbing can cause small tears in the skin and you can actually when you scrub spread the bacteria from one spot to the next.

Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!

Your age plays a role! How old are you? Do you always have breakouts?

However, blackheads can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.

Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.

However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.

If you are a teenager ( which I assume that you are) your hormones play a definite role in your breakouts.

If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.

The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.

The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.

Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?

Here is my STRONG SUGGESTION for you. I refer all my students and patients to this website:

    www.aboutyourskincare.com

You need to consult with professionals and on this website YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS FOR FREE AND A SKIN EXPERT/PHYSICIAN WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. It would be a shame if you dont take advantage of this free service.

Lastly, they have incredible products for breakouts and they make them specifically for every kind of skin type. That means that if your breakouts are more severe than mine, than while we both will buy the same product yours will have stronger ingredients than mine will.

They have a mild glycolic acid cleanser that's great for your type of skin and also a DRYING LOTION ( I have 3 bottles) that you put directly on your breakouts and the next day it's gone. It's truely magic in a bottle.

A basic guideline for properly taking care of your skin is this ( now if you're a young girl you will need fewer products than this):

    Night time:

    1. Exfoliate the skin

    2. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    3. Mild Glycolic Acid Toner ( cleans off the excess debris and balances the PH level of the skin).

    4. Drying Lotion used only on breakouts

    5. Moisturizer

    Morning:

    1. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    2. Moisturizing cream

The above is a standard you may need to only use one or two products. Visit: www.aboutyourskincare.com

As I suggested and click on the ASK FOR FREE section send them an email and you will get free expert skin care advice.

    Good Luck to you,

Does the neutrogena blackhead eliminating shrub work?

How do i eliminate and prevent pimples and blackhead/whiteheads?

    something that REALLY works

my skin has dry and oily spots

i need something that treats allHow do i eliminate and prevent pimples and blackhead/whiteheads?
    I use Neutregena.

Try stridex pads, You can get them at Target, fredmeyer, walmart..ect. Look in the Facial Area. Or makeup area. they Are like Acid Pads, and the clean it really well...!! :] or try a Face masks its called ';night cream'; you put it on, then leave it for 2 mins. then tear it, it tears the black heads, out, and dont worry it doesnt hurt ;]How do i eliminate and prevent pimples and blackhead/whiteheads?
    This is what I suggest:

Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good consistancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. These two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.

Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. But this is not recommended to everyone because it can make it worse.

Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard when you wash your face, because it can irritate your skin.

Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one or two tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars. Zinc can be found in many types of fishes.

If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands are full of bacteria and oils. Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.

An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. Aloe vera helps acne scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.
I use a clay mask. It draws the toxins out of the skin. Also, those clear pore things are great! But don't use them too often. My skin has both dry and oily spots and I have problems with both blackheads and regular pimples. The clay mask really help! For a moisturizer, I use organic, unrefined coconut oil. It moisturizes very well, but is also has antibacterial and antiviral properties, so it helps moisturize and kills bacteria that cause pimples.
Just hear me out...ok? Seriously, I tried EVERYTHING on the market and one day in desperation I tried anti-bacterial dish soap on my face! (no, I'm not kidding!) My face cleared up SO FAST!!!

Try it! It's also the cheapest thing too, considering everything else for acne is SO EXPENSIVE!

    I hope you try it!
    Cetaphil works great !

    [Walmart-$15]
Be vegitarien, eat more vegetables and salads, choose one time luch or dinner with salad and lemon.

What's the best technique for cleaning/eliminating blackheads?

I like to violently pop them with a special tool from the drugstore to watch the pus fly out.

Not that that is necessarily best, but very satisfying. What's the best technique for cleaning/eliminating blackheads?
i squeeze some of the stubborn ones but a good blackhead cleanser life clean and clear or clearasil is good to get rid of smaller ones.

also, t-zone do little sticky things that you put over the area(nose, forehead, etc), leave it for ten minutes and then peel it off and most blackheads come too. but unfortunately the pores fill up within a small amount of time again, so you have to keep repeating the process.

use a hot compress to make them stand out then use the strips
you can use the facial scrubs that say for blackheads, you can use the nose strips or you can get your Doc to give you an antibiotic cream. I recommend all 3! the cream will keep them from coming back and when you do occasionally get them-use the scrub or strips
Blackheads are made up of dead skin cells and oil. Keeping your skin exfoliated, preferably with Retin-A .05%, will lessen the blackheads considerably. You have to get it by prescription. It's a little pricey, but worth it. Also, when you first try Retin-A, your skin will become somewhat flaky and dry feeling, but stick with it and in about two, maybe three weeks it will balance out and start to feel normal again, and in no time at all you will see blackheads disappear.
i use dead sea facial peel from sunsation...its on the expensive side but it makes my face feel great after using...and even though you can only buy it by the ounce it lasts 3-4 months....i find that it really helps with black heads
If you have blackheads or whiteheads, avoid squeezing them. It can cause infection and permanently scar your face. Getting treated by the dermatologist is the best option. The dermatologist can open the comedones after sterilizing the area, if needed.

I need a CREAM that eliminates Blackheads, freakles, and blemishes?

Back in the M.E, my mother used to purchase a cream called EVA cream that was in a small container (pink %26amp; white). Since she was pregnant she started to notice a small ';discoloration'; on her skin. She thinks they look like freakles, I don 't. But, when using that cream it helped a lot with all of that.

I can't find it NO WHERE online, so I need to buy a new GOOD, AMAZING product that does the following:

    - Gets rid of blackheads

    - Freakles

    - and Blemishes

Noooooo!! Tell your mom to get a pinch of baking soda and mix it with her usual cleanser (ie: Cetaphyl) and mix into a paste on her hand. Then gently rub it all over her face concentrating on problem areas. This will clear up most blemishes and blackheads, not sure about freckles though. When she's done simply was off with warm water!! natural, cheap and very safe and kind to sensitive little bodies.

I have had a problem with blackheads for awhile now 1. Because I have large pores and 2. Because I find that my skin is pretty oily. Maybe more oily than it should. But anyway I am currently suffering from rather large unsightly blackheads on my nose if you too suffer with them or you know someone who does you know that they are much more difficult to get rid of then normal pimples that most of the time can just be popped in seconds. So I need some good advice on how to take care of these blackheads and keep them away, they are very VERY annoying and I'm willing to do almost anything to get rid of them. What do I need to do to eliminate Blackheads?

  • What's a good product for eliminating blackheads on my face?

I had a baby a few months ago, maybe my hormones are playing a role in it. I never had perfect skin, but it's getting worse. It seems like my pores are getting bigger or something like that. My face is covered with few pimples and lots of blackheads. I wash my face every morning and night. I use a foaming cleanser - not soap - and I exfoliate once a week. Is there something out there to help fix my skin? I've tried a lot of stuff, but nothing works. Would ProActive work? ...Or is that for acne only? Please help. What's a good product for eliminating blackheads on my face?
    THIS WORKS FAST %26amp; CHEAP!!!

I used Tetracyclin, Proactive, Retina A and had many expensive facials with less than good results.

This has worked for me and many many other happy people.

Go to pharm.,Drug store, or Walmart, buy ';PURPOSE'; bar of soap - Blue box - Made by Johnson %26amp; Johnson - wash your face with this

2-3x's per day. Also pick up a LOW strength Benzoyl-peroxide cream, apply the cream by dabbing

to the individual blemishes.... DONT rub it in works using a oxidation/reduction reaction..It will unclog

dry it out and bring it to a head...DONT over use this or put anywhere else on your face. It will cause drying and make you look worse.

Salicylates such as found in regular asprin among other products work very similar but also remove layers of skin...

other over the counter creams with this product will dry out pimples but maybe too hash and cause surrounding skin trauma..

I have seen many people recommending crushing asprin and making a paste which probably will dry out the blemish but again

pretty strong and probably will cause more tissue damage and bigger scars as an anti inflammatory

probably would take the reddness out... again pretty harsh for sensative skin.

Also, If need which probably will for moisture ASK FOR ';NUTRADERM lotion'; - the orginal not the new stuff, this works

great and wont clog pores or leave a residue on your skin...Any lotion that is completely oil free and hypoallergic should

work but again I recommend Nutraderm. I have heard from people online that ';Purpose'; also makes a lotion that is good, Nutragena, and Nivea

make good products also. I recommend Nutraderm from experience and my dematologist.

';Purpose Bar'; %26amp; ';Nutraderm'; are oil free and hypoallergic they contain no perfumes and are great for both men and women.

I have also heard great reports of this soap helping improve skin tone. Some people recommend the ';Purpose luqid soap'; saying

that the bar did dry out their skin some. The rational behind using the bar is that there are no ingredients in it that will clog pores, and

according to dermatologists they recommend the Bar. I have also heard good responses from ';cetaphil soap';. These products are safe for all skin colors and tones. I highly discourage use

of Proactive and other harsh chemicals for people with some natural color in their face due to the bleaching and drying effect it has

    shown in many many people.

Additonal TIPS: acne, pimples, etc are frequently cause by a bacteria or hormone issues that cause clogging of pores.

DONT PICK POP POKE (your hands are the dirtiest part of your body) and will cause: infections, spreading of germs, more breakouts and scarring

DONT EVER listen to people online who tell you to scrub your sensative skin or use harsh chemicals

such as: Lemon juice, vinagar, alcohol, etc... DONT EVER use that APRICOT CRAP!!! DONT USE

PROACTIVE- this is expensive and harsh it may kill the bacteria cause also Benzoyl based wash but

will irritate skin and cause bleaching of face and neck.... Other similar treatments may work.. also

things such as Accutane but have SERIOUS side effects such as Major Depression, %26amp; birth defects in unborn children, among others

If you wear make up make sure it is oil free, %26amp; hypoallergic...Eating healthy...Drinking plenty of water.. changing pillow cases freq.

etc ...avoiding dirty sports equp. such as helmets...can not hurt...Acne/pimples again are caused by pores/hair follicles becoming plugged

up, this plugging then causes an inflammatory reaction - reddness and infection (pimple)..black head is dirt trapped in pore, while a white

head is the same thing you just dont see the dirt instead you see white pus (lymphocytes that accumulate in the area to fight the infection)

It has been shown in many studies this most often not caused by what you eat (chocolate etc... or how clean you are) but most often by either excess oils plugging pores or a bacteria

on the skins surface. - Proactive works in some people because it is a strong Benzoyl peroxide based washed but is most freq. to strong

for people with sensative skin - this is why alot of people get excessive drying and flaking, rashes, bleaching or breakouts from the product.

Retina-A does decrease the bacterial growth on your face but also removes dead/living skin, this can work well in some individuals and

has been shown to reduce wrinkles and scars but again I feel this is pretty harsh on sensative skin prone to breakouts. If you choose

Retina-A never use this product during the day only at night due to the sensativity it will give you to the sun. You must also get a perscription

for this product and I really don't believe it is worth the damage it does to your skin. In some rare cases for very deep/large boils and cyst types

of pimples oral antibiotics maybe needed but I would first recommend trying ';purpose'; and a low dose ';benzoyl-peroxide cream'; along with a good

oil free moisturizer ';Nutraderm... etc'; this does work well.

THIS WORKS FAST AND CHEAP!!! I no longer get expensive facials, take oral antibiotics, or even NEED makeup... I am very happy - Have

very good skin... and have many many other happy friends... THANKS again to my WONDERFUL

DERMATOLOGIST... TRY THIS!! GOOD LUCK.... PS. ';PURPOSE'; costs about $3 ----------------------------------------鈥?br>

----PSSS---sorry I have to keep adding more information to this to address common questions that always being asked....What's a good product for eliminating blackheads on my face?
proactiv is something for someone with mild case of acne or dry/redness you know....i would say try a cleaser that has those little beads to clean out pores....dont roughly scrub your skin becasue that irriates it more and after washing splash cold water onto your face to close pores and keep dirt and oil from getting in...good luck
i would use proactive or go to avon.com it will have everything you might need. my sister had the same problem.
    clean and clear
I started using Clean %26amp; Clear products but it only got some of the acne to go away. There is this amazing face mask called Queen Helenes. I use it twice a week. You can even use it for spot treatments. It minimizes pores, gets rid of blackheads, and gets rid of acne. Heres the website for it...

I just got Zeno and I love it if the mask doesnt work get Zeno Acne Clearing Device. Its amazing. It only works on pimples though not blackheads. If you dont like it or it doesnt work for you, you can return it within 30 days. Heres the website for it...

    http://www.myzeno.com/

Proactiv Refining Mask is also great. It clears acne and blackheads fast and you can use it as a spot treatment. Heres the website...

YES!!!proactive does work!i have the same problem(well i havnt had my baby yet) but yea.ProActive roxs!!
proactive would probably work but biore warming face wash works
    A clay mask.
Drink lots of water and use vitamin E.

Is their any vaccine or medicine to eliminate pimples or blackheads forever ?

noIs their any vaccine or medicine to eliminate pimples or blackheads forever ?
noIs their any vaccine or medicine to eliminate pimples or blackheads forever ?
yes there is, its the beauty glove proven to exfoliate dead skin help eliminate pimples and blackheads to give you a clean spot free look and feel. its no medicine nor a vaccine simply a glove used in the bath or shower apply glove with soap massage over face. it removes dead skin and any bacteria allowing the face to breath. but remember after you exfoliate u should use a toner then a moisturiser. u'll see the diffrence within a week. it's called the beauty glove.
    umm No
    No, except to keep clean.
Accutane is the only thing close but has side effects, talk to a doctor.
Sorry, such a thing does NOT exist at the present time. The person who comes up with such a cure will be an instant billionaire.
There is an effective cream called Retin A which you can obtain with a doctor's prescription. It won't get rid of the problem forever. There is a drug for severe cases called Roaccutane (spelling?) which reduces the amount of sebum produced in the skin. See your doctor - there's many things you can do for acne these days. And if your skin has scarring you might like to consider laser therapy. Good luck!!

I promise you you'll get through your acne. Adolescense doesn't last forever (no matter waht it seems like)

Trust me, I come from a family of women who have perfect skin, and the gene skipped me. I honestly think my mom freaks about it more than I do, but it's not as bad as it could be. Just keep telling yourself that.
it seems johnson and johnson have a medication for this
i seriously use the best stuff ever .. its called

apricot scrub for oily or acne prone skin .. it works so good i tried everything.

Another question...do any1 know how to eliminate blackheads permanently using any surgical interventions???

A drug named '; adapalene '; does wonder in reducing the blackhead formation by stimulation of skin growth through modulation of cellular differentiation and keratinization of follicular epithelial cells, i.e. it encourages skin peeling. (However, adapalene is mainly used to treat acne vulgaris by assisting in keeping skin pores clear.)

Apply a thin film of adapalene gel once daily before bedtime. Its mainly available in the form of ';Differin';. You can get differin here Its highly recommended! A word of caution though, adapalene can increase the sensitivity of skin to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight, so prolonged exposure should be avoided by judicious use of sunscreens and protective clothing.Another question...do any1 know how to eliminate blackheads permanently using any surgical interventions???
Cleanse your face with unboiled milk, gently rub a coarse cloth dipped in milk to remove the blackheads. Steam your face with herbs like lavender, lemon peel and mint leaves added to the water and let the skin soak up its goodness. Best way to eliminate blackheads?

What are the best ways to eliminate blackheads?

I don't have many, just a few on problem areas of my nose.

Is there some sort of topical treatment that really works?

I find that blackheads are harder to get rid of than pimples..

Here's a picture to show you my problem areas

    http://i35.tinypic.com/2nicojq.jpgBest way to eliminate blackheads?
ok- blackheads are not oxidized white heads - They're open pores which dirt and oil have been trapped and they become infected. They're also called comedones. Regular cleansing, toning and moisturising with a weekly scrub with a fine exfoliant sould get rid of them and keep them at bay..

if in doubt consult a beauticianBest way to eliminate blackheads?
Don't scrub at them too much with harsh products, because this can have the opposite effect of actually causing pimples.

A good exfoliating scrub will eliminate blackheads - it's best to do this maybe 2-3 times a week. Ones containing Alpha-Hydroxy Acids are usually most effective. The rest of the time wash your face morning and night and apply an oil-free moisturiser.

Face masks can be good too - these are products which you smear over your face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. There are plenty of ones out there which are designed to unclog pores - I find ones containing clay are best.

Well that's my advice - good luck!
The products you are using, are they Salsylic Acid or Benzoyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! Try finding a face lotion with SA in it. Clean and Clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. It is only about $5 a bottle and lasts about 2 months and you can get it at your local store. I have used this in the past and it works well. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face.

Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser for acne and Biore warming facial scrub every morning for blackheads (This stuff works. I notcied a DRASTIC diffrence in my blackeads being GONE within 2 weeks) . And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working! Good Luck!
Best thing you can do is get in a hot shower and use a micro scrub (such as body shop micro refiner vitamin c) this is excellent for them and the heat will open your pores and they will just ooze out themselves. Don't use a moisturiser after your shower until your face has cooled down and your pores are smaller (about 45 mins). Only use a good oil free moisturiser. This routine works for me!!!
    blackheads are oxidized whiteheads

best way to get rid of them is to not get whiteheads

    eat healthy

don't eat fast food and oily foods

    exercise regularly

    try squeezing them gently

google 'get rid of blackheads' and you will find endless results

do not try products on the market they do not work
if you want to buy a cream they might be expensive so the best way is probably to:

    1. wash your face with water and soap that suits your skintype to open pores

    2. rinse with water to get the dirt out of the pores

    3. use moisturiser to close the pores and lock in moisture

    hope this helps!
You can try this. Make a paste by mixing 1 tsp lime juice and 1 tsp of finely powdered cinnamon. Apply it on the affected area before going to bed. Wash it off in the morning.Check out http://useinfo-blackhead.blogspot.com/ for more useful tips to control blackheads.
i have had them to the things is you have to squeeze them or use proactive or a solution. but you just have to do that until it looks like it is coming up and when it is then squeeze it.
    I got them right there.........

    this works nothing else does

What they are saying is all correct.. You need to also make sure your using an oil free moisturiser and foundation.... You obviously have an oily skin, maybe go for a treatment at a beauty salon and buy some products for your skin type...
Pop all the ones that you can and use a daily scub with a facial cleanser.
    maybe try an apricot scrub....

a dilligent exfoliation program will keep your blackheads at bay! To get rid of them steam your face for no longer than 5 minutes and apply gentle pressue with two qtips. DO NOT USE YOUR NAILS if the blackhead doesn't come out, it's probably impacted; in this case leave it alone until it surfaces. Usually you can get them to surface with gentle pressure and exfoliation. It will probably take a good month of religous skin care to get you to a place where clogged pores are easily extracted.Whats a good way to eliminate blackheads?

I am shocked at this racist question. To think that in this day and age, people are still trying to eliminate ';black heads';, by which of course you mean black people.

You should be ashamed of yourself!

Heres what I do....go to walmart or shoppers drug mart or even Zellers and buy a facial steamer!!!

hen steam your face for a bit and gently squeeze out the blackheads.

this may be the simplest and most effective answer you can get on here. but u have to stay committed for it to work.

drink tons of water--you might not want to but this works 10 times better then any stupid cream you can put on your face because creams and **** like that are just way to get the job done quicker but it doesn't last long. Drinking water will wash all the dirt and oil away traped under your skin and you'll have a clear completion in no time. i hope you listen to this answer because it works really well from experience.
or try buying a blackhead wash and use it in the shower, after you've washed the stuff off your nose, use cooler water right after and splash it over your face and then that will close the pores. try even using an astringent when you get out of the shower.

for the wash, i would try biore warming anti-blackhead cream cleanser

the strips dont work it like tape i do is wash my face with a face wash that has little beads that sell like mint it works to but i have a lot of acne
    When I first went to a dermatologist one of the first things he said was ';Hands off.';

If you think about it your hands are where about 90% of all things you normally come into contact with come into contact with you, everything from food, dirt, bacteria, viruses, everything. So if you keep all the stuff on your hands off of your face and wash your hands on a good basis then your problem with blackheads and acne in general might quickly fade away significantly but chances are you'll have some acne, it's extremely hard to get rid of it all once you've gotten some of it.
The ONLY thing that worked for me was plain ol' Dial soap. The pump soap worked even better, but Dial was astringent enough that it stopped the zits and the blackheads!! Better yet was Dial and one of those ';super scrubby'; things (like your Mom has in the kitchen for cleaning pots and pans, but not QUITE as rough!!!).
Well then you'va certinally tryed to do it on your own. I think its is time for you to go to a Dermatloigt (Really sorry, Can't spell to save my life!)

How to eliminate blackheads in the skin...and how to prevent them?

    Diana,

Never use vaseline on your body. It's Petroleum which actually isn't good for you - and hardens skin not softens it.

To stay on top of black heads -

by using pure and natural products and before washing your face use a hot wash cloth - to pull dirt to the surface.

Also for the shower exfoliate - and or use a sea salt shower scrub.

Nutragena makes a body acne wash you may want to use that with your lufa.

A deep cleaning mask once a week for your face

and exfoliate it twice a week not on a mask day.How to eliminate blackheads in the skin...and how to prevent them?
Walmart or probably other beauty departments carry a body glove. It is a slightly rough woven fabric and stretchy. You pull the glove on and scrub with it really well.

The roughness keeps the pores open so, walla No black heads. Do it every time you bath.

My Husband had them under the outer corners of his eyes and also ingrown hairs on the back of his neck. Ours hangs in the shower and has totally solved his problem a long time a go.

I get about one little one a year. But I use Vaseline on my face at night and in the morning clean it with a hot wet towel.

40 seconds in the microwave with a wet towel and clean the Vaseoline off. NO BLACK HEADS OR PIMPLES.

Good Luck. How to eliminate blackheads in the skin...and how to prevent them?
sit in a sauna bath house that has high heat and humidity to have your skin sweat and clear itself
To prevent them you need to keep your skin as clean and oil free as possible. Use a good astringent, such as plain witch hazel to cleanse the skin daily, that will keep the oil from accumulating in the pores.

Do not, repeat do NOT squeeze blackheads, unless you want scars. Use a skin buffer to clean your face, this will help lift them out. Also, you can try a peel off facial mask.

As you take better care of the oily skin issue, you will have less blackheads and the need to eliminate them will pass.

  • How can I eliminate the blackheads on my nose?

Unfortunately, blackheads are something most of experience thanks to the skin's constant sebum production and cell turnover. But there are a few things you can do.

    1. Alpha hydroxy acids are also a good first line of defense. They gently exfoliate skin to prevent cells from building up and clogging pores.

    2. There have been mixed reviews on pore strips. Some love them while others have complained about losing a strip of skin. If you have sensitive skin it might be better to avoid these strips.

    3. Head off to the drugstore and look for salicylic acid cleanser. It will temporarily remove surface oil and pore-clogging debris.

    4. Really stubborn blackheads are best removed by a dermatologist and yes... it usually hurts.

    5. Retin-A is another defense that you might want to consider. A little stronger than the ydroxy acids, it loosens the blackheads while speeding up cell turnover. That means that skin cells have less of a chance to clog pores.

    6. There are lots of home remedies to try. Here are a few... Mix equal parts of lime juice, almond oil and glycerine and apply to the face.

    7. Beat an egg white until stiff. Add 1 tsp honey and then apply to area with a cotton swab. Leave for 1/2 hour and then rinse with warm water.

    Tips:

    - Did you know that ';Pore Packs'; have been offered in Japan for quite some time. For some reason, they have not been offered in the US or Canada.

    - Pore strips have had better results removing blackheads from cheeks rather than the nose.

    - I have read lots of accounts that state that these little strips are addicting... especially for men. They love to check out what has been pulled out.How can I eliminate the blackheads on my nose?

use asprin diluted in water as a toner. i swear to gosh it works wonders. nothing has ever worked for me before this.
Using a soft toothbrush with soap and hot water gently brush your nose.
Strips are okay (and fun!), but they are expensive and not all brands are effective as others. Always follow the instructions, and don't remove too early. I found that the UK brand T-Zone and Biore strips were the best of the bunch, IMHO.

You can buy black head removers- a long metal stick with a tiny spoon on the end with a whole through it. You steam your face, and use the black header remover (with the spoon bottom against the skin) to remove the goo from the surface. Although this is a brilliant and cheap way to get rid of blackheads (it's about 拢2- about $1.25 or so), it does in fact still leave some of the goo in there and doesn't solve the problem of open pores.

A good diet, clean skin and clean fresh air play a part in the appearence of the skin on the nose.

How to reduce pores and eliminate whiteheads/blackheads completely?

What is the best products out there that worked for you to reduce/minimize pores, AND eliminated blackheads/whiteheads?

I've tried everything, but still can't improve my skin condition. As for pores, nothing worked so far. And I also can't eliminate whiteheads/blackheads at all. I currently use ProActive Solution, but all it does is eliminating blemishes, acne, etc. It doesn't really work for my problems. Those whiteheads are so annoying because even when I squeez them out, they still come back again. I know I am not supposed to do it, but nothing worked for me just yet. Any advice for me? Any good products? Success stories?

I am only 25 but look like I am 31, and those problems make me look older and uglier :(

Thank you so much for your help in advance! How to reduce pores and eliminate whiteheads/blackheads completely?
    Definitely do not use facial scrubs or try microdermabrasion - they do not work and aggravates condtion. This is an all NATURAL, safe, quick, low cost treatment that really works.for many skin disorders -. works particularly well for getting permanently rid of spots and minimising pores. This is an answer received from someone with the same problem who tried it . '; Omg, I've been following your advice and massaging my face vigorously with coconut oil for the last three days and I see results already! Thank you ever so much..this could be the solution to my all my skin problems. I'd messaged earlier asking about the pores on my face. They're very large and EVERYWHERE. I have a massive event coming up in a month. Do you think your method with help me get rid of the pores by then? Could I do it twice daily to speed up the process? ';

See my many Best Answers for skin treatments. Understand that nearly all skin problems are caused by the many countless harmful ingredients in soaps, face cleaners and nearly all other cosmetic products. Do an online search ';Soaps, face cleaners harmful'; and ';Cosmetic products harmful';. Use only mild, safe products - find online also.

To reverse damage restore skin to total health and keep it healthy, massage with quite a vigorous motion (once a day -you will find you can make it more vigorous as you progress). using an organic oil - coconut, vitamin E and olive oils work really well. Skin is always shedding and renewing, the massaging friction invigorates and heals the skin and hastens a spot and blemish free new skin to emerge. Initially, the skin has to adjust and if soreness, breakouts or other reactions happen - skin might expel poisons that need to be expelled - then stop and resume when you can. You have to find the pace that works for you - it's different for every person. Stick with it %26amp; in a few days or a week you will see a great improvement and overtime you will have a radiant, blemish free healthy skin. Keeping up a massage routine(not as vigorous) after that will make it stay that way. You will not even need to use any other product - not even moisturizers - only unhealthy skins need constant moisturizing. Applying this treatment is all you need. I've experimented a lot with diets, health foods, orgainic and raw foods and honestly I do not think what you eat results significantly in a better skin.

go to cvs or walmart and get an at home microdermabrasion kit .they're about 20 bucks. use a retinol cream afterwards do this at least twice a week.the retinol cream will not make your skin oily.I get my retinol from the dollar store for 2 bucks.I also have had black heads and white heads that kept coming back.I originally got the microdermabrasion for my acne scars, but it has also helped my other problems too.
Use facial scrubs for oily skin, it helps with the dirt and oil in the skin to reduce it, and after you shower, assuming you take ( hot ) showers the heat and steam open your pores so to help close your pores you need cold. After the shower rinse your face with really cold water. But while in the shower when your pores are open wash with the facial scrub so it can really get in there and clean out your pores. Also I know how embarrassing whiteheads are but picking or popping them only causes scarring, so don't do that. When you get a new whitehead put some rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on a cottonball and rub it over the pimple a couple times a day, that will help it to dry up faster and go away. And keep your hands off your face, the hands are always dirty, think about it you use your hands for everything so there covered with bacteria, and your hands secrete oils that help clog your pores. Also wash your face in the morning and at night. Not sure if your male or female but if you wear makeup make sure you wash it off before bed.**** Just wanted to say if you saw incognito's message ignore that jerk, he's a a*%hole.

I have a MAJOR blackhead problem, especially on my forehead and I'm sick of picking. They just leave marks and those marks don't go away. hey girl.... i have a bit of a blackhead problem myself, but also a whitehead %26amp; other types of pimples problem. anyway, i've used this site (www.acne.org) for a number of different things, and coincidentally, last night i was on it looking @ the reviews of people having tried topical lemon juice: http://www.acne.org/rate_item.php?item_i鈥?/a>

also, here's the main page of the ';natural remedies'; section, where i plucked that link from. (you can see there that people even take lemon juice orally -- which is at the top of the list, and therefore the best-liked among the natural remedies!) http://www.acne.org/rate.php?disp_cat=45鈥?/a>

you should know that this is an excellent acne site, full of reviews of lots of products, and was created by a guy who started this thing called the ';Clear Skin Regimen.'; i tried the Regimen twice, and though it did not work for me for various reasons.... i was so glad i found it, b/c the website is a WONDERFUL resource, and the community is fabulous. there are message boards with tons of acne topics, and i've learned so much about the condition of acne just by participating in that. everyone is really supportive and informative. if nothing else, you'll get a ton of reviews of acne products galore, including natural ones like lemon and Apple Cider Vinegar.

good luck! and if you have any more questions, feel free to email me. =)Has anyone tried rubbing ReaLemon on their face to eliminate blackheads, and does it work???
I did something once that I do not advise anyone to try.

I was so frustrated with blackheads at the side of my nose.

I put a type of wart remover on them.

there was a scab on the side for a couple of days.

I was concerned that I had disfigured myself.

The scabs and all discoloration left within three days.

    the blackheads were gone.

I got lucky, I don't think anyone else would want to experiment on themselves.
i dont know about a lemon but my grandmother always cut a potato and rub it on my uncles face and it works you can even feel it drawing to the heads . potato peelings are known to bring pimples to a head in just a matter of time
I've never heard of lemon on your face hmm that's new to me but it sound like it would work. I've seen a friend of mine squeeze fresh lemon juice and put it on their scalp to treat dandruff then rub it with a small toothed comb that worked but never on the face.

Any suggestions on how to close open pores on the cheeks, eliminate blackheads on the nose?

I find using a toner to really help your pores. Alba makes a great line - (walgreen)

It offers ph and helps close pores after you wash them.

For the nose take a hot compress, apply and repeat.

    Gently push your nose upward

wash with an acne face wash

toner and spot treat blemishes with acne cream.

Do the nose trick about once a month (gently don't injure your pores)Any suggestions on how to close open pores on the cheeks, eliminate blackheads on the nose?
I dont know about the pore question, but you should really leave it alone.

as for blackheads, you can steam your face [put your face over a bowl of hot water with steam escaping from it, with a towel over your head, for like ten minutes] and then squeeze them out as you would a pimple. but that does cause damage and isnt suggested.

there is such a thing as a blackehad extractor, though. you can go to a spa and get your blackheads removed properly with a facial, or go back and ask your dermatologist about a blackhead extractor.

    good luck.

I am blonde , too, so I know what you mean about the scarring!

At night and in the morning I use water just as warm as I can take it to wash using a non allergenic soap.. I gently rub ..no hard scrubbing... Sometimes I put the washcloth over my face with the hot water for a few minutes just to let the pores open up a bit, then I use the soap with more very warm water and I repeat that until I am satisfied with the results..then at night I apply the Clearasil Stay Clear Vanishing Acne cream... for all night .. then of course I wash all that off before makeup.. but before makeup I also use a bit of witch hazel ( a liquid ) all over my face to cool it down and cleanse it as well ..then I apply my makeup if I am going to wear any.

I don't get those awful blackspots anymore and my face has really cleared up. I think, but I am not sure it is mostly the extremely warm water with non allergenic soap that is doing it though... I know that Clearasil is helping overnight too. I just like the witch hazel because it has this wonderful cooling effect and is a very good cleanser and does not make me have red spots.

i need help with this myself, i use pore strips about twice every week to diminish them but i havent found how to eliminate them completetly. although benzoyl peroxide lotions really help too!
    Use dermalogica facial scrub pads
you have to wash your face in the morning and at night. but after you wash your face in the morning, to make it look like its not there, you can dab on some spot pimple treatment. after that, put some coverup on it. then, put on your foundation. this makes the look of pimples COMPLETELY disappear. i got this from a vogue magazine

What and how to use to safely remove blackheads without going to the derm. What is the best way to eliminate blackheads?
Use products containing salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. There are many, including Proactiv, Neutrogena, and other drugstore brands. Buy a blackhead remover at the drugstore...these really work and are better than squeezing them with your fingers. What is the best way to eliminate blackheads?
the pore strips get some of them but they always end up growing back. you have to get them extracted to get rid of them for good %26amp; make sure you follow up with good exfoliation 2 - 3 times per week to keep them clear.
read tips on treating acne and more on skincare on this site
I'd say the Biore pore strips!! those work the best, it hurts a little when you're pulling it off but then after I'm done my nose feels all moisturized and what not.
just don't squeez them! you may actually ';create'; more this way.
    Michale Savage just
Yes please, I was going to ask this earlier. You know those pore strips? I buy Biore ULTRA pore strips cause they are stronger than the regular ones and work 100% better. I am going to try using one every three days and see if it helps in the long run. Tho wont the pores just fill back up the next day or two? UGH!!! I hate them!!!

What could work for you if you have not tried it yet would be a good face or body scrub. This may be all you need. Clean and Clear scrub is really good tho it can be rough on sensitive skin so maybe just use it on the areas you need help.

I let my bf use BIORE strips once a week, rest of the time, wash your face at least 2 times a day (no more than 3 times w/ face wash thou) with Aveeno face wash targeted for blackhead--the foam pump one. after about 3 weeks, all his blackheads are gone~!! (the first day when we started it (with the nose strip) the strip was completely black...it was gross%26gt;%26lt;. but now his nose is very clean and pore sizes are not big at all.

P.S. make sure you use cold water to tap on your nose to close the pore after you take the strip off.

Will using Biore' strips or similar blackhead removal strips cause my pores to get bigger?

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips effectively clean my pores, and better than any other pore strip I've tried. But I haven't really noticed my pores actually getting smaller. Right after I've used a strip I'd say the appearance of my pores is less noticeable, but I haven't seen any pore shrinkage.

I found this on a comparisson site. I have used them myself, But never noticed my pores getting bigger. I wouls suggest that you use a pore refining solution to minimize the size of your pores. I found that works best for me and most people.

I had a blackhead which I popped and now I've got a big red sort of open graze type thing?

At first it looked like a spot but was open and not bleeding but there was an open ';scar'; almost on my face. Then it began to dry up over night and now looks more crusty, but is still open, and now has like a whitish ';covering'; (but not like a whitehead) beginning to form over the open bit. I know I shouldn't have popped it in the first place!

What's the best way to help it heal quicker and without any scarring? Would it be a good idea to stick a plaster on it or not? Would stuff like Savlon help it? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers.I had a blackhead which I popped and now I've got a big red sort of open graze type thing?
blackheads better not to pop, but i'm talking to u as an experienced in zits and blackhead i usually pop them with clean hands and put ';Fucidin gel'; it's an antibiotic gel, so they don't get infected, and if it's very naughty to look it it doesn't harm to put a plaster on it, but otherwise try to let it open to air so it can dry up, unless u work in a environment as hospital or dirt company ect....anyway for now u have to use this antibiotic gel this will close it with a fine layer that u don't see...hope i helped....I had a blackhead which I popped and now I've got a big red sort of open graze type thing?
Try to refrain from squeezing spots or blackheads. Get a blackhead face wash, and a blackhead cleanser for afterwards. I recommend Clean %26amp; Clear, or Garnier Pure. Only squeeze the yellow pus spots, spots that have come to a head.

To make my spots go down faster, I usually use Garnier Pure A night treatment gel, and put it on individual troublesome spots. It dries them up pretty good. If my skin's particularly dry, I'll use Savlon on them instead.

Don't stick a plaster on it. It needs to air.

The whitish covering is just plasma from your blood, which is being released to help heal the spot, so don't worry about that.
Maybe you popped it with dirty hands or something..It could have gotten infected after you left it open and unprotected after popping it...You could use pimping fighting products which contain benzoyl peroxide..Just to make sure..Go visit a dermatologist...she would know best...

Are thre any people obsessed with picking blackheads...my daughter trys to always find one that is bigger?

I don't look for the biggest one, but I try to get rid of as many as I can. Lately they've been minimal. I wash my face with Equate cream cleanser and then use the Equate apricot scrub after that (follow the directions on it because you have to use the scrub for a minute for good results), those two every day work great and my skin looks healthier. Plus they're only $2 each at Walmart. Are thre any people obsessed with picking blackheads...my daughter trys to always find one that is bigger?
I wouldn't call it an obsession but I have an tendency to pick at oddities on my face and people who are close to me. It's a bit odd, yes, but it bothers me knowing that there is something underneath the skin that's dirty and gross and doesn't even look good. Tell your daughter to be careful though, because her picking could result in scarring. Make sure that besides her habit, she still uses something for her face that helps prevent blackheads and maybe soften the appearance of any scars or Marks that she may already have. Clearasil Total Control seems to work well for me.Are thre any people obsessed with picking blackheads...my daughter trys to always find one that is bigger?

Big bloody hole on nose after squeezing out blackhead/zit- i have big pores and oily nose?

here is some background information. I have massive pores that stand out, i have combination skin with my nose being extremely oily, and have been using stievamycin, a mild acne gel that purges acne; pushing them up to the skin with high exfoliation powers.

i squeezed a blackhead/pimple like thingy from my nose and there was a lot of blood under there and its like there is a massive hole on my nose now that is red, it was as if it was a cut, the spot is all blood under there. additionally, im not sure if this was caused by me squeezing it or me accidentally scratching my nose but on another section of my nose, close to the nostril, there is small blood dots that form a line that is highly visible, i think these are from my pores. can someone help me please?Big bloody hole on nose after squeezing out blackhead/zit- i have big pores and oily nose?
well, if it was a blackhead.. yes its a pore.. whenever a blackhead comes out it leaves a pore.. most likely.. it will get smaller.. in time.. just dont mess with it.. next time, maybe dont squeez them? juss a thought

    can you answer mine?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080909213115AAnTmte

Does quezzing blackhead from my nose make pores big? if yes, why?

Squeezing a blackhead should not have affect on the size of your pores. However, a bad side affect is the possibility of the oils that you release will clog surrounding pores, resulting in... you guessed it... more blackheads.

It's always better to let these things run their course.

There are medications that can help dry up these pores, but I would recommend against squeezing them.

Good luck!Does quezzing blackhead from my nose make pores big? if yes, why?
YES THIS BRUCES THE SKIN AND LONGER 2 HEAL

I KNOW THERE UGLYDoes quezzing blackhead from my nose make pores big? if yes, why?
Squeezing makes the bad stuff go deeper into your skin.
Big pores are genetic, so squeezing has no effect on the size of your pores.
No it doesn't. Big pores are genetic. Squeeze them, you need to get the dirt out, otherwise it will not go away. Just make sure you protect your fingers with little plastic finger domes or kleenex. Steam your face for 10 minutes with hot water, then squeeze away, just be gentle. After apply a mask and a moisturizer and continue to do this weekly. you will notice a difference.
wash your face with warm water and apply a proactive mask they go away and make the pores smaller

its a stiff bump kinda hurts when you touch it. feels like a ingrown hairI have a stiff bump on my chin, its not 2 big,it doesn't look like a zit b/c it has no blackhead wut is it?
It could be a deep zit, like a cyst. If it keeps swelling and you can eventually force pus from it, drain, watch it go done, the there will prolly be a harder ';plug'; that will have to come out before it fully goes away.I have a stiff bump on my chin, its not 2 big,it doesn't look like a zit b/c it has no blackhead wut is it?
it is probably a pimple. a white head starting to come up.

    Nope,
Not personally, but I once had a huge abscess that had a bit on it like string and if you pulled it it was like pulling a plug on the pus and it would just gush out like an oil well thing!

I once had a boyfriend who had a blackhead on his back that was so big that when I finished squeezing it, it took 2 weeks, it removed an inch of his tattoo!!

I LOVE squeezing blackheads SOOOOO much I sometimes go to bed with my make up on so I can have a few on my otherwise blemish free skin!

    Uneven skin tone..big pores..blackheads..oily and dry skin..anything?

Well as you can see I have alot of problems with my skin. First of all its very pale and my skin tone is uneven..And it some areas my nose especially I have oily spots while my forehead and cheeks or more dry. I also have veeeeeeeery deep and small blackheads on my nose and some on my chin. I have tried to extract them out but it didnt work and some are in areas I just couldnt get to easily. So I guess im asking for a regiment of things that are affordable and could help get gorgeous pale skin. Something I can do before bed ever night or every morning when I wake up. Ill put a picture up so you can see what my skin looks like. I promise you its no where near as good as it looks in the picture. Anyone who takes out the time to help me, thank you.

I LOVE your eyes! Are they natural or contacs? Sorry...I had to ask. :)

I have about the same problem as you do! Well, I DID until I walked into Sephora a while ago. All I can say is....MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE MOISTURIZE! Go to Sephora (Yes, they are pricey but it's worth it if you have tried everything and it still doesn't work) ask about Hourlglass Moisturizer. Ok? It's AWESOME. IT ROCKS. Ask about the WHOLE Hourglass line ok? Emphasizing your needs that you addressed in your question. You won't regret it. They also, have something that dries up zits....like that. But you don't have zits so I won't get into that.

Anywho, just go to Sephora and ask a girl there (who has awesome skin) what you just asked Yahoo Answers ok?Uneven skin tone..big pores..blackheads..oily and dry skin..anything?
    Well... you know what?

to me, it sounds like you just want attention and praise for your picture, because in it, your skin looks flawless, and you have got none of what you mentioned in the title.

If this is SERIOUS, than go to a dermatologist.
ur skin is oily and dry, take herbal facials n try 2 wash ur face 3 times wid a good face wash.
Go to a dermatologist. They will get you sorted out!
You look normal to me. in fact, you look hot.
I can suggest Paula's Choice 2% BHA Exfoliating Liquid.

    Link:

    http://www.paulaschoice.com/product/two-percent-beta-hydroxy-acid-liquid/bha-aha-exfoliants

It may be a little pricey but well worth it! It's the #1 best seller on their website and almost all reviews are positive. I have blackhead-clogged pores and major break-outs, but since I started using this product I almost completely stopped breaking out and my skin is so much smoother! After using the BHA for about two weeks, you should extract your blackheads. It is recommended for you to extract every few weeks for the best results.
it sounds like you have combination type skin.

in the morning, use a cleanser, toner and moisturise which contains spf15. a good cleanser is Avene soapless gel cleanser, or cetaphil cleanser. both are mild and won't aggravate oily skin or cause irritation. it is important to be gentle with skin. just put toner on the oily areas, a good one is Vichy Normaderm. i use Olay multi radiance fluid spf15 as it contains niacinamide, which is a helpful ingredient for uneven skin tone or inflammed skin.

in the evenings, use cleanser again, and toner, and then try a light balancing moisturiser. Roc hydra bio active combination skin is good, or a cetaphil moisturiser. Eucerin hydro balance light is nice too.

also use an exfoliator in place of cleanser on your blackheads, try Avene gentle exfoliator. or you could use pore strips. they are normally used on the nose but can be used on forehead and chin.

remember to remove makeup at night before you cleanse, with a mild makeup remover or baby wipe, as it won't irritate skin.

eating healthily, lots of water and some exercise everyday is important for healthy skin. try to eliminate all junk food and eat a lot of fresh things.
If your looking to spend no money, the best treatment for skin care is:

    1. Wash face with any cleanser

    2. Sleep before 9pm

    3. Eat health 3 meals a day.

    OR

    1. Go to a dermatologist, they will set you up with special treatments either pills, or a cream.

    2. Eat healthy.

    3. Get a decent amount of sleep every night.

My face is awful, the pores are big and blackhead and whitehead filled?

what are some tips for me to help with this? and don't tell me proactive, im through with that. i want good skin again, im 25 yrs old and have really oily skin.My face is awful, the pores are big and blackhead and whitehead filled?
i had very bad skin but it is clear now at 29 this may sond wierd and odd but it works it closes the pores just enough for them to breathe and gets rid of blackheads and white heads go to the drug store and buy milk of magnesia as soon as you put it on you can feel your skin tighten and pores closing within minutes believe me it worksMy face is awful, the pores are big and blackhead and whitehead filled?
i got fed up with proactive too and plus too expensive...try to use acnefree its only 20 dollars at your local CVS or Walgreens and worked wonders for me
try eating plenty of veg and keep off the greasy stuff.
I am 34 and still had big pores on my nose and occassional breakouts. Go to a dermatologist who will prescribe an antibiotic to you. Try Obagi skin regimine. The one thing you can do right now without visiting anybody is to not touch your face. Hands have so many germs and when you touch your face, any open sore you have willl get them. Concentrate on leaving your skin alone and that might help...
if proactive didn't work for you then you have a need for perscription medication for acne. make an appointment with your dermatologist.
    Hi!

I actually found a facial oil that slows down your skins oil production, clears up pimples/ acne and dissolves black heads within 4-8 weeks I put all the info on my blog as it's quite detailed:

http://beautymoi.blogspot (.com) =%26gt; remove the parentheses

I also put a full article of how to extract blackheads and steam your skin.

Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted from your pores and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix, no water based product can ';clean'; your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. So this is basically how this oil works. It's composition is such that the skin accepts it as a healing oil and it does not clog your skin but rather protects it while the plant extracts inside go down into the pores (this absorption is made possible by applying the toner to the skin before applying the oil and then applying the dabs of oil over your moistened face), it then penetrates into the pores.

I put where to the name of the oil and prices in stores versus on eBay as well as how to apply it on my blog:

    http://beautymoi.blogspot (.com) =%26gt;remove the parentheses

Also you may want to Google Drying Lotion by Mario Badescu.

    Take care and good luck!

    Felisia
How big are your pores? Does the tip of you finger fits inside? I suggest for you to use Ponds toner, then apply Ponds pearl cream and do it daily.
Clean your body from the inside out. The skin is the largest elimination organ of the body. When the liver is overtaxed and cannot clean the blood though urine, etc., it resorts to excreting toxins and waste through the skin. Stop drinking all caffeine and drink 72 oz of water every day. Eat vegetables and severely limit sugar and flour and you will see a remarkable and permanent difference in a few months. (permanent as long as you stick with the changes that is)
Do you eat many animal products? Alot of people find that they, especially milk, worsen spots because of the animal hormones they contan. There's a great site about it somewhere but I can't find it :p But I stuck a few other links in the sources...
Exfoliate! Try a microderm abrasion kit for at home. It will help. A plastic surgeon reccommended St. Ives' Apricot scrub for my fiance. He said it is one of the best products on the market and it is astonishing how cheaply it is sold for. You can buy it at wal-mart. It will be a pain in the butt, but was your face several times throughout the day, even if you have a job and you have to go into the bathroom... just do it. It will help to control the oil.
    Do you exfoliate?
This may sound kinda gross, but your urine has urea in it and if you use your morning urine on a cotton ball and apply it on your face, leave it on for about 5 minutes and then wash it, it's supposed to help clear it up. Yes, it sounds gross, but you don't have to tell anyone you've tried it.
I have never had to much of a problem with acne but I have suffered from oily skin and large pores since puberty. I have found the most effective way to control my oily skin and over sized pores is to gently cleanse my face with a fragrant free, all natural soap twice a day and to use a face moisturizer. I've noticed that if I use a face moisturizer after gently cleaning my face with soap my face doesn't seen to produce as much oil. Kinda odd but true, at least in my case.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,

    mknight

    EDIT:

Excellent advice from interstateseventyfive. I didn't even think to mention pillow case and to finish washing with cool/cold water to help close up the pores. Very good tips! I would give you a star if I could :)
I use products by the company H2O plus. My doctor recomended that company, and it has done miracles for my skin. They have different prodcuts for all different types of skin, and it really works. Also if you exfoliate once every other day it helps to clear out your pores.
    1. Wash your face with face wash three times a day.

    2. Every other day put a clay mask on your entire face (NOT THE PEEL OF KIND!)

3.clean out all the pimples, pimples attract more pimples.
I had the same problem. What helped me is a Pore Cleansing Masque from Artistry. I shrunk my pores and my face was not so oily. They guarentee it to work or they'll actually refund all of your money. I will give you the direct link to read all the information on it and even buy it if it sounds like what you are looking for

    Pore Cleansing Masque

    http://adrennan.qhealthbeauty.com/products/product.aspx?itemno=100197

It isn't a peel off mask either, you just wash it off. I love it and it works great for me and i'm sure you'll find the same thing if you try it. I hope this answered your question :)
Accutane. It is a prescription that you have to get from the dermatologist, also you might have to really fight your doctor to get it, a lot of dermatologist are still trying to prescribe Retin-A and other older medicines that just don't work, just be persistent, that you only want Accutane. Once you have gone through the treatment your skin will become dry and you will have to really take care to moisturize and protect it from the sun, which will be weird since you have probably always had oily skin.
    You look edible to me.
hey here is some home remedy if you like, try this

take a spoon of rice flour or wheat grams or tiny sugar

wash your face and take any one of the above and rub gently on your skin for about 3 to 2 minutes then wash it off .

Now take a steam for 5 minutes pat with towel, apply a oily skin face pack and wash it.

do it for few days then see..

basically we get the heads because of the dirt and once we use the scrub the pores are open, so we should always apply face pack to close the pores.

It worked for me hope it works for you too.
Try natural remedies. A good one for making your face feel and look better in minutes is distilled witch hazel, dabbed on with cotton wool. You get the witch hazel in bottles in the drugstore - it's a clear liquid that smells herbal, and sinks into your skin like lightning. It'll dry up the skin enough and close up the pores.
Start with a few simple practices.

Wash your skin morning, night (and after the gym) with a gentle cleanser for oily skin.

Exfoliate ever other day with Neutrogena scrub.

When washing your face, rinse 7-10 times with warm water before lathering your skin. Rinse 7-10 more times and follow with cold water.

Change your pillowcase often and minimize your hair's contact with your face (try headbands, bandanas off the forehead, or even re-examine your hair care products for excess oil or other clogging contaminants).

Do not touch your face during the day. It is a habit that will be hard to break.

Drink at least 64 oz of water everyday.
go to the dr. and will will proscribe you meds if you have really really really bad skin they will give you antibiotics to kill all the bacteria in your skin, but if your are uncomfortable with that you can get some face cream from the doctor it works really well.
If you are going to wash your face 3 times a day, as suggested above, you need to have a moisturizing soap, otherwise it will dry your face out way too much, and become red and rashy! Your skin needs to keep SOME of the natural oils it produces! What do you have against the proactive? I think that it's one product that I have found, if used correctly, really works! It will give you good skin again! And if it's too expensive use the generic version that you can get at Wal-Mart. I think you just need to really need to use it everyday AS DIRECTED and it will work wonders for you.

PS - your pores are not that big, and your face is not awful! It always seems worse to you, but others do not see it that way!
try to go to the sauna.. for like 30 min. about 3-4 times a week... i'll do it, and it helps a lot!
Large Pores Treatment - Home remedies

    SUGAR SCRUB

Ingredients: 1 Tablesoon each of sugar, olive oil and honey.

Wet face, apply scrub by rubbing very gently in a circular motion. Remove with water with hands only.

    EGG WHITE MASK

Mix 2 egg whites with a few drops of lemon juice. Apply on face and leave on for 5-7 minutes, then rinse with hands.

Note: As egg whites dry, they linghten the skin and pull debris out of pores. Lemon is a natural fruit acid which also helps to exfoliate.

Or you may try the following to treat large pores

    1) Mix almond meal with enough water to make a paste. Apply to pores for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then apply withch hazel or a solution of apple cider vinegar and water.

    2) Mix table salt and buttermilk into a paste, apply on enlarged pores and massage well. Rinse with warm water.

    3) Add lemon juice and a little milk to oatmeal. Apply the paste and remove after 20 minutes with water. Do not use if there are eruptions.

    Tips on reducing large pores

Stop using harsh toners or astringents on the affected areas. Using these products may have a very temporary 'tightening' effect on pores, but it's extremely short-lived. In fact, harsh astringents actually encourage oil glands to over-produce oil, leading to an increase in the size of pores.

Avoid putting moisturiser on the area as the skin produces quite enough moisture and oil on its own and doesn't need more.

Makeup tips to hide the appearance of large pores

Heavy foundations will draw attention to your large pores. So, stay with a sheer, light and oil free foundation.

Apply foundation, concealer, powder and blusher in a downward motion, otherwise you'll accentuate pores by pushing colour up and into them.

    Steam your face weekly

    How to Exfoliate Your Face

Moisten your face with water before exfoliating.

Use a loofah, exfoliating gloves or a synthetic scrubbing sponge designed for the face.

Apply an exfoliating cleanser specially designed for faces to the loofah or sponge. Some exfoliating cleansers contain up to 25 percent pumice, and these should never be used on the face.

Rub your face with the loofah or sponge using circular motions. Avoid scrubbing under the eyes, because the skin there is thin and easily damaged by abrasive cleansers and exfoliating sponges.

Rinse thoroughly with tepid water. Hot water is harsh on skin, especially delicate face skin.

Try an exfoliating mask. Make one by mashing up a papaya and smearing it on your face. The enzymes help exfoliate the skin. Rinse off thoroughly after 15 minutes.

  • What do u do if u pop a blackhead and it leaves a big opened pore and anyone use the acne treatment murad it ?

Interesting question, I would start by agreeing with Perfidity above, in that medications themselves will not close the pore. At the point where you elect to rupture a comedo or whitehead, your problem becomes one of prevention of infection.

Frequently, ';popping a zit'; seems the logical thing to do, but when you do so, especially if you have not propperly cleaned the skin before and after, is the possibility of a reinfection which will cause the thing to come back larger and more difficult to treat. As a result, this is frequently where long term scars start.

If you must drain the pustule, clean the skin before you start with either alcohol or betadyne. Sterilize the needle with a flame and ever so lightly puncture the head FROM THE SIDE. (Do not go directly in, as you will frequently push the infection to greater depths of skin, where it will again come back, worse than before.)

Once you have ruptured the head, (after washing your hands thoroughly) do not just squeeze. You need to apply gentle pressure with your fingers, and roll your fingers back and forth, as if you were rubbing your fingers together. . (Picture this is the worlds smallest violin playing ';my heart bleeds'; sort of motion.

After you have finished, apply some benzyl peroxide cream to the area and repeat twice a day until the lesion is gone.

The benzyl peroxide is probably one of the best over the counter remedies you can purchase. Apply it to your face as directed and it should have a visible impact in about a week or so.

Hope this helps. .What do u do if u pop a blackhead and it leaves a big opened pore and anyone use the acne treatment murad it ?

At this point, most acne treatments won't close your pore back up. If you leave it alone, it should fill back in after awhile and then heal.
Just keep your face clean. That's probably your best bet. Putting medication on it might sting since the pore is open. You might also try buying something called an astringent, which is supposed to help keep your face clean and shrink pores a little. You can find that stuff at the grocery store or at wal-mart in the health department.
